NEWS!!

Every Friday Elijah has his "news". some weeks there are required items and some weeks it is "free choice". Elijah's choice last week was to bring some legos he put together for the ocassion. Elijah LOVES legos. News is always exciting at our house and we are so proud of all the thought Elijah puts into his "News" every Friday! Well Done little buddy!

Gotchya!

Can you believe it has been 5 years already? Happy Gotchya Day Elijah! To celebrate we had a yummy berry swirl cake and a dance contest (pictures coming soon!) The mark on Elijah's face is what is leftover of face painting of a saber from the PLC Garden Party yesterday.

It was also Zeke's 5th Birthday today and he got a Lamb Shank to celebrate :) September 27th is a very special day in the Witt Family!

Are you my Mother?

Elijah's class performed a play based (sort of) on the book "Are you my Mother". Elijah was chosen to be one of the chickens! Elijah's line was "come with us if you eat worms". When we started practicing he couldn't quite get the words in the correct order but after we worked on it during the weeks leading up to the play he learned it and during the play he did his line PERFECTLY! We were SO SO proud of Elijah! We feel so incredibly blessed that this little boy who could not even say his name 3 years ago (really!) is doing this well. Elijah does work hard to keep up but he is so determined and confident! God is good and has been so faithful to answer our prayers! What a cute little chicken we have! Although I don't eat worms I do feel blessed to be able to say; "Yes, I am your Mother" :)

Elijah's Sports Carnival!

Elijah's school held their Sports Carnival last Thursday. Bella was home sick so I had to leave her at home and take Tia to the "Oval" and after Elijah ran his race we headed right home again. Elijah was too too cute! a little boy a few lanes down ran out of his lane in front of Elijah and cut him off. Elijah didn't really notice! He had a great big smile on his face when he looked up and saw his Mommy taking photos of him from behind the finish line! That is enough to make everything worth it . . .

Kindergarten Open Day.

It was such fun going to Elijah's Kindergarten Open Day! Tia and Ellie were able to see Elijah's schoolwork, look at all the artwork displayed in the classroom and enjoy the songs and skits the children performed. Do you notice anything different about Elijah??

Another Elijah story.

Well Kindergarteners are a laugh a minute. Here is a story from today:

Mommy: "Elijah you need to work on your homework"
Elijah: "I have news tomorrow Mommy so I need to get my items . . ."
Mommy: "No Elijah, tomorrow is Wednesday, you have news on Friday"
Elijah: "No Mommmy, today is Wednesday and tomorrow is Friday"
Mommy: "Elijah, if today is Wednesday then tomorrow would be Thursday, but today is Tuesday."
Elijah: "MOMMY, TODAY IS WEDNESDAY AND I HAVE NEWS TOMORROW!"
Mommy: Elijah, If tomorrow is Friday then you better do your homework because it was due today (Thursday?!)

Mommy cracks up at herself. and at this entire conversation.

Letters that begin with "I"

Elijah & I were doing his Kindergarten homework. His assignment was to find pictures of items beginning with the letter "I". After brainstorming and searching for a few minutes Elijah asked: "Mommy can you type that in Google?"

Matt & I had a very good laugh.

Matt says this is the sign of a modern Kindergartener :)

A visit with Santa

Santa came to Elijah's preschool yesterday. It was so fun! Tia did not want Santa anywhere near her however she kept smiling, waving and saying "Santa" from the safety of her spot about 10 feet away from him - TOO CUTE! Elijah was just thrilled and enjoyed every moment of his visit with Santa - and he loved the blow up Crocodile he got for the pool, yes the kids get a lot of those summer toys from Santa here in Australia!

Kindergarten Orientation!

Can you beleive Elijah will be starting Kindergarten soon?? What a big boy! In America he would have started in August but in Australia the school year starts in January so in just 2 months our little boy will be going to Big School - and wearing a uniform!
